Project Description

Engenium Group provided mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering services for the design and construction of the new, 75,000 SF, 5-story campus center and residence hall for Georgetown Preparatory School. The project also includes a new stadium with bleachers, press box, locker rooms, and public restrooms, as well as new and reconfigured athletic field layouts. The new campus center and residence hall has 70 dorm rooms and 128 beds, 15,000 SF of faculty apartments and accommodations, an assembly hall, enlarged infirmary, a family kitchen and living room, and a residential lounge.

Mechanical systems for the project included a 4-pipe chilled water and heating hot water system, supported by gas-fired condensing boilers and an air-cooled chiller. Each space in the building is served by a hydronic energy recovery unit for ventilation. The 1st floor Assembly space utilizes a displacement ventilation system for improved thermal comfort and acoustics. Additionally, the family kitchen was designed as a full commercial kitchen and includes a gas range and Type 1 grease exhaust system.
