General Position Description
The Technology Project Consultant is responsible for designing, managing, and delivering integrated technology solutions across diverse project types. Technology Project Consultants will also lead client engagement, assist in proposal development, project delivery, and mentoring junior team members.
This position will report to the office two days per week minimum. Additional in-office days may be required to facilitate internal and external meetings, site visits, events, or other business needs. Travel between offices may also be required in the performance of job duties.
Key Accountabilities
Project / Client Leadership – 35%
- Lead technology design projects from concept through construction and closeout, ensuring alignment with client goals and budgets
- Oversee project scope, schedule, and deliverables; manage add-services as needed
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, and other design partners to deliver integrated solutions
- Review subconsultant deliverables and support timely invoicing and project financial health
- Delegate and track project tasks across the team
- Attend meetings and prepare deliverables requiring high-level technology expertise
- Maintain organized project files, meeting minutes, and field notes
- Support monthly invoicing and help reduce accounts receivable through proactive follow-up and coordination
Production – 25%
- Develop and oversee technology system design packages, including AV, ICT, and/or security
- Conduct site visits, testing, and commissioning of technology systems
- Produce high-level deliverables such as reports, design narratives, specifications, and drawing markups to support design deliverables
- Conduct engineering, feasibility, and technology integration studies
- Assist in production and documentation as needed during peak workloads
- Prepare outlines and presentation materials for client presentation
- Provide quality assurance and control (QA/QC) reviews of design documentation
- Ensure drawings, specifications, and reports meet Engenium standards and client expectations
- Support project teams with constructability reviews, budget alignment, and compliance with applicable codes
Technical Leadership – 20%
- Provide subject matter expertise across AV, ICT, and security systems design
- Guide and review the technical work of the team to ensure quality, accuracy, and innovation
- Stay current with technology trends, codes, and best practices, and apply them to real-world design challenges
- Build and maintain relationships with vendors, manufacturers, and technology partners.
- Contribute to firm-wide standards, tools, and processes that enhance quality and efficiency
Marketing and Business Development – 10%
- Pursue prospective projects and clients to expand department revenue
- Develop new project proposals, including scope development and fee compilations
- Participate in client presentations, industry events, and business development opportunities
- Attend client and networking events as a representative of Engenium Group as nee
Professional and Organizational Development – 10%
- Mentor and coach team members, utilizing strengths and addressing areas for development
- Support technical onboarding, training, and performance feedback for junior staff
- Contribute to internal initiatives that strengthen the team’s technical and operational excellence
- Actively engage in knowledge sharing and mentorship throughout the firm
- Participate in organizational training and development programs
- Attend team and client events as needed
- Participate in the interview process to evaluate prospective candidates and recommend hiring decisions
- Submit timesheets, expense reports, and other administrative documentation accurately and on time
This position may perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent AEC industry experience
- 8+ years of experience in technology consulting (AV, ICT, or Security)
- CTS-D, RCDD, and/or PSP preferred
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office Suite
- Working knowledge of BIM workflows, network infrastructure, and system integration principles
- Experience writing technical specifications (Division 27/28 preferred)
- Proven project management and client leadership experience
- Strong business development record and ability to win new work

Physical, Mental, and Environmental Requirements
Physical Demands:
- Regularly required to sit for extended periods at a desk using a computer
- Must be able to view a computer screen for prolonged periods
- Occasionally required to lift or move objects up to 50 pounds
- During site visits, may be required to:
- Walk on uneven terrain or unfinished surfaces
- Climb stairs and ladders
- Enter confined spaces or areas with limited accessibility
- Carry equipment or tools such as measuring devices or ladders
Mental Requirements:
- Ability to concentrate for extended periods while managing multiple tasks
- Must be able to write clearly and effectively in English
Work Environment:
- Primarily works in a standard office environment with typical office equipment and conditions
- Occasional visits to client offices and active construction sites, which may include exposure to:
- Noise, dust, and other typical construction site conditions
- Outdoor weather conditions and temperature variations
- Situational hazards requiring use of personal protective equipment (PPE), such as hard hats, safety vests, or boots

Compensation
The salary range listed is our best estimate based on industry data for the skills, experience, and responsibilities tied to this role. Final compensation may be more or less depending on specific applicant qualifications and experience, geography, and internal team equity. We aim to be fair, competitive, and transparent—within the boundaries of applicable laws.
This position has a salary range of:
- Baltimore, MD: $122,938 – $166,328
- Washington, DC: $142,282 – $192,499
